World Labs

World Labs is a San Francisco based spatial intelligence company building Large World Models (LWMs), foundational AI systems designed to perceive, generate, reason about, and interact with three dimensional environments. Founded by Stanford AI researcher Fei-Fei Li alongside Justin Johnson, Christoph Lassner, and Ben Mildenhall, the company argues that language and image based generative AI has only scratched the surface of what machines need to understand the physical world. Its flagship product, Marble, lets users generate persistent, explorable 3D worlds from a single image, video, or text prompt, with applications spanning storytelling, game design, robotics simulation, and scientific discovery. World Labs emerged from stealth in September 2024 and has since become one of the most heavily capitalized pure play spatial AI startups, backed by chipmakers, a design software giant, and major venture firms.
