Etsy, Inc. is a publicly traded (NYSE: ETSY) American e-commerce company operating two-sided online marketplaces that connect buyers and sellers of handmade or vintage items and craft supplies. Founded in 2005 in Brooklyn, New York by Robert Kalin, Chris Maguire, and Haim Schoppik, Etsy went public in April 2015 and moved its listing from Nasdaq to the NYSE in October 2025. The Etsy marketplace spans categories including jewelry, apparel, home decor, furniture, toys, and art, with vintage items required to be at least 20 years old. Etsy also owns Depop, a fashion resale marketplace acquired in 2021. Kruti Patel Goyal became CEO on January 1, 2026, succeeding Josh Silverman, who moved to the role of Executive Chair; Fred Wilson, who had chaired the board since 2017, stepped down as Chairman but remains on the board as lead independent director. Etsy reported 2024 revenue of approximately 2.81 billion dollars.
