American Seafoods Group

American Seafoods Group is a Seattle-based Alaska pollock and Pacific hake harvesting and processing company, producing fillet, surimi, roe, and block seafood products that yielded 1.3 billion servings of sustainable seafood in 2023, distributed through a global network. Bregal Partners led a deleveraging recapitalization of the company in 2015 alongside Pacific Seafood Group and seafood industry veterans Chris Lischewski and Amy Humphreys, becoming its largest shareholder. Einar Gustafsson became CEO in February 2022, succeeding Mikel Durham, who had led the company since 2016; Inge Andreassen, a 30-year American Seafoods veteran, was elevated to Chief Operating Officer at the same time. Bregal announced its intent to sell its stake in American Seafoods in 2023 as part of winding down its Bregal Partners Fund I portfolio, but paused the sale process in mid-2024 citing unfavorable market conditions, and as of the most recent reporting the company remained in Bregals portfolio.
