Samuel Juillot

Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer (2015-2023)

Paris, France

Samuel Juillot joined Glowee as a co-founder in 2015, shortly after completing dual master's degrees in biotechnology and in synthetic and systems biology from Sup'Biotech and the University of Evry Val d'Essonne, and a PhD in synthetic biology from the University of Freiburg in Germany. As Glowee's Chief Scientific Officer, he led the company's research and development team, improving the light intensity and stability of its naturally bioluminescent marine bacteria and extending the material's usable lifespan from a few hours to several days. He later co-founded Eurekafe, France's first pay-by-the-hour science themed cafe, in Toulouse in 2018, and has since left day to day management there to run an educational farm, La Ferme de Courneillac.
