Mikko Hyppönen joined Sensofusion as Chief Research Officer and part-owner in mid-2025 after more than three decades in cybersecurity, most recently as Chief Research Officer at WithSecure and previously Principal Research Advisor at F-Secure (formerly Data Fellows), a run of 34 years. He is one of the most recognized figures in global cybersecurity, known for the 'Hyppönen Law' of IoT security, for co-discovering the ILOVEYOU virus in 2000, and for frequent keynotes including at Black Hat. At Sensofusion he applies signature-based threat detection methodology from the malware world to identifying and defeating drones.
