Markus Aho became Varma's Chief Investment Officer and a member of its Executive Group in June 2022, and was named Deputy CEO in 2025. He joined Varma in 2014 and previously served as its Head of Private Equity and Head of Private Investments before becoming CIO. Before Varma he worked at Pontos and Accenture.
