Mariam Naficy is the co-founder and CEO of Arcade and managing partner of Heretic Ventures, the venture studio that incubated it. A serial e-commerce entrepreneur, she co-founded Eve.com in 1998, one of the first online cosmetics retailers, and sold it in 2000 for 110 million dollars. She later served as VP and general manager at The Body Shop and founding VP of the early movie-streaming service Movielink, before founding Minted in 2007, a crowdsourced design marketplace that grew to reach 40 million households. She fled Iran with her family at age 9 after the Islamic Revolution and earned a bachelor's degree in political economy from Williams College. She was named one of Fortune's Top 10 most powerful women entrepreneurs in 2010 and one of Fast Company's 25 most creative people in business in 2014, and sits on the boards of Minted, Medium, Victoria's Secret and Co., and Every Mother Counts.
