John F. Milligan is Board Chair of Kailera Therapeutics. He joined Gilead Sciences as its 32nd employee in 1990 and had a 29-year career there, rising through Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and President before retiring as President and CEO in December 2018. He led transformative acquisitions including Triangle Therapeutics, Myogen, CV Therapeutics, Pharmasset, and Kite, and grew Gilead to more than 11,000 employees, over 21 billion dollars in sales, and an 85 billion dollar market cap. He also serves as Executive Board Chair of 4D Molecular Therapeutics and Board Chair of PacBio.
