Dirk Ziff is the founder and managing partner of Ziff Capital Partners, the family office he formed in 2014 following the wind-down of Ziff Brothers Investments, which he ran for two decades with his brothers Robert and Daniel. The Ziff brothers inherited their fortune in 1994 after their father, William Bernard Ziff Jr., sold 95% of Ziff Davis, the publisher of PC Magazine and Car and Driver, to Forstmann Little for 1.4 billion dollars. Ziff Brothers Investments seeded hedge fund manager Daniel Och in exchange for a stake in what became Och-Ziff Capital Management. Ziff holds a BA in English Literature from Columbia University and an MBA with distinction from Harvard University. He is an owner and board member of the World Surf League, a board member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and a founding board member of the Robin Hood Foundation.
