Dr. Ben Reeve is Co-Founder and CTO of Modern Synthesis. A bioengineer with a PhD, he was previously founding CTO of Puraffinity. While working with a team of scientists at Imperial College London, he discovered and sequenced the strain of bacteria, isolated from kombucha tea, that Modern Synthesis uses to produce its nanocellulose-based biomaterials. He leads the company's technology and IP strategy, including its patent-pending 'microbial weaving' platform that combines bacterial nanocellulose with conventional textile scaffolds.
