WCM Investment Management is a Laguna Beach, California independent asset management firm led by CEO Paul Black, built around broad-based employee ownership and now managing over 100 billion dollars for institutional clients including pension plans and charitable organizations. Co-founded by Kurt Winrich, who served as co-CEO before retiring in 2022 and remains chairman, the firm recovered from a near-collapse in 2011 (dropping from 4 billion to 800 million dollars in assets without laying off staff) to become one of the industry's larger independent managers, and co-led Hadrian's 2026 Series D.
