POSCO Technology Investment

POSCO Technology Investment (포스코기술투자) is the corporate venture capital arm of POSCO Holdings, founded in June 1997 in Pohang alongside POSTECH to back new-technology and venture businesses. It is branded POSCO Investment / POSCO Capital in its own English-language materials and by most English-language investor databases (confirmed directly on the firm's own site, poscoinvestment.com/en) — these are the same entity, not separate firms, despite some third-party aggregators giving inconsistent HQ-city and portfolio-count figures for the English-branded profile. It invests through holding-company CVC funds, collaborative CVC vehicles with POSCO group affiliates, and its own proprietary account, with a stated focus on materials, secondary battery/EV supply chain, hydrogen, robotics, and other deep-tech sectors relevant to POSCO's industrial base. Its 2011 investment in Aron Flying Ship, the WIG craft manufacturer, was part of its early-stage venture activity outside POSCO's core steel business.
