BMW i Ventures is BMW Group's corporate venture capital arm, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Mountain View, California, with additional offices in San Francisco and Munich. It invests in transportation, sustainability, manufacturing, supply chain and AI startups, typically supplying up to $10 million per deal through Series B, and manages roughly $1.1 billion across three funds. Managing Partners Marcus Behrendt and Kasper Sage lead the firm, which has backed over 60 companies including Chargepoint, Xometry, and Solid Power. BMW i Ventures first backed Rapid Liquid Print in its 2021 seed round and participated again in RLP's 2024 Series A.
