PPG Industries completed a $1.05 billion acquisition of AkzoNobel's North American architectural coatings business in April 2013, first announced in December 2012. The deal brought Glidden, Liquid Nails, Flood, CIL, and Sico into PPG's brand portfolio and was, at the time, the second-largest acquisition in PPG's history.
