InfraVia, Liberty Global and Telefonica acquire Substantial Group via nexfibre

InfraVia, Liberty Global, and Telefonica agreed in February 2026 to acquire Substantial Group (owner of the Netomnia fibre network) for 2 billion pounds through their existing joint venture nexfibre, in which InfraVia committed 850 million pounds of new funding. The deal creates the UK's largest alternative fibre platform and is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to a UK Competition and Markets Authority review.
