Michael Kors Holdings Acquires Versace
Consumer Discretionary · Italy · $2.1B
Michael Kors Holdings (later renamed Capri Holdings) acquired 100% of Versace for approximately $2.1 billion, buying out both the Versace founding family's roughly 80% stake and Blackstone's roughly 20% minority stake (acquired by Blackstone in 2014). The deal closed December 31, 2018 and formed the basis for Michael Kors Holdings' rebrand to Capri Holdings the following year.
