CVC acquires Smiths Detection from Smiths Group

CVC Capital Partners agreed in December 2025 to acquire Smiths Detection from Smiths Group at an enterprise value of 2 billion pounds (16.3x headline operating profit), completing the transaction in mid-2026 with net cash proceeds to Smiths of more than 1.9 billion pounds.
