Argos Wityu acquires majority stake in Backerei Schmidt

Argos Wityu acquired a majority stake in Karl Schmidt GmbH, operator of the Backerei Schmidt bakery brand, in 2024 from funds advised by Odewald KMU, which exited the business entirely. Managing director Martin Manski increased his own stake and stayed on to run daily operations. The brand then had 73 branches and grew to roughly 90 locations by 2026.
