Lightsonic

Lightsonic is a UK-Norwegian company based in Kristiansund that turns existing telecom fibre-optic cables into sensors, applying machine learning to light signals to detect and locate water leaks, intrusions and tampering without digging up or instrumenting pipes. Working over Openreach's fibre network, it has signed UK water utilities Affinity Water and, in September 2026, Southern Water, and raised a 3.3 million euro seed round led by Maki.vc in 2025.
