Lapaire is a pan-African optical chain founded in 2018 by Swiss-born entrepreneur Jerome Lapaire, offering free vision tests and prescription glasses from about 19,000 FCFA. Started in Kenya and now run from Abidjan, it operates across nine African countries including Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Benin, Togo and Uganda, and grew revenue at a 40.8% compound annual rate. Backers include AfricInvest, Proparco and Investisseurs & Partenaires.
