Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is one of the largest specialty distributors of wallboard, ceilings, steel framing, roofing, and insulation products in North America, serving professional contractors across residential and commercial construction markets. Operating more than 370 locations across the United States and Canada, FBM serves as a critical supply chain link between manufacturers and contractors in the building materials distribution sector. FBM was owned by American Securities and CD&R from 2021 until it was acquired by Lowe Companies for approximately $8.8 billion in a deal announced in August 2025 and completed in October 2025.
